Set up app pricing to collect in-app subscription payments for your products

Understanding app Pricing Plans

You've created a product, uploaded some content and connected your store. It's now time to create an app pricing plan so that you can sell subscriptions in your app.

It's important to note that there are some key differences between mobile pricing plans and Stripe.

1. Review Process:

New pricing plans for the apps are not created in the app right away. Instead, they need to go through a review process by the stores before they become visible to your users. This is an important step in ensuring a smooth experience for your app users.

2. Subscription-Only Model:

Apps on our platform exclusively support subscription-based pricing on an auto-renewal basis.

3. Commission Rates:

Apple and Google charge a commission on in-app purchases, which is currently set at 30% for most apps. However, there is good news! If you're eligible and choose to join the Apple Small Business Program and Claim a reduction in Google Play service fees, you can reduce this commission to 15%. We strongly encourage you to consider joining this program to maximize your revenue potential.

With these differences in mind, let's get started with the process of setting up subscription prices for your apps.

Setting up app pricing plans

Once you've connected a Developer account you'll see the option to add pricing for that platform from the App Setup, you can also find app pricing at any time in the Products & Access page.

Note

Sales made in the apps appear in the Sales tab, and within that store but do not appear in Stripe.

  1. Select your product - on the Products & Access page click the pricing button for the product you want to add prices to.

  2. Choose a pricing interval - If your App Store Connection has finished processing you'll have the option to add monthly or yearly prices. If your connection is still processing after 24 hours please contact us.

  3. Choose a Price in USD - Apple and Google will automatically localize the price to other currencies in the store, select any price you like but be careful to set it above $0.00! Payouts will be made to you in your own currency.

  4. Add an internal note - this is optional, but if you have multiple pricing plans for the same product this may be helpful!

  5. Click Create Plan - Once the plan has been created we'll take care of the rest and the plan will be included for review with your next submission to Apple.

That's it! You've successfully set up subscription prices for your apps on your platform. If you encounter any issues or have questions during this process, don't hesitate to contact our support team for assistance. We're here to help you every step of the way.
