Understanding Payment Options Using SupaPass for Your Website and App
When setting up subscription payments for your website and app using SupaPass, there are three payment processing options available: Stripe, Apple, and Google. Each method has its specific use cases and associated costs. Below is a detailed breakdown of these options to help you understand how payments are processed and how fees are applied.
Payment Methods
1. Stripe
Usage: Payments for subscription plans purchased via your website.
Process: Connect your Stripe account with SupaPass. When a user buys a subscription on your website, the payment is processed through your Stripe account.
Fees: Stripe charges a very small fee, usually less than 1% per transaction.
Important Note: Payments processed via Stripe are independent of Apple or Google sales.
2. Apple
Usage: Payments for subscription plans purchased via the Apple app.
Process: Purchases are made using the user’s Apple account.
Fees: Apple typically charges a commission of 30% on payments. However, as a small business, you can register with the App Store Small Business Program to reduce the commission to 15%.
3. Google
Usage: Payments for subscription plans purchased via the Android app.
Process: Purchases are made using the user’s Google account.
Fees: Google generally charges a commission of 30% on payments. As a small business, you can register with the Google Play 15% Service Fee Tier to lower the commission to 15%.
Managing Payment Data
SupaPass provides a consolidated view of all sales activity through the Sales Datasection in the CMS dashboard. This allows you to monitor payments made via Stripe, Apple, and Google in one location.
Automated Payments
Once a user subscribes, payments are processed automatically.
Users provide their card details during signup or use the payment method associated with their Apple or Google account.
No additional setup for payment triggers is required, ensuring a seamless experience for both you and your subscribers.
By understanding these payment options, you can effectively manage subscription payments and optimize your revenue while minimizing fees.
