Managing your Community and moderation

Set expectations and review concerns so members know how to participate.

Make your Community a place people feel comfortable joining. Clear expectations and accessible reporting tools help you look after the conversations around your content and respond when something needs attention.

A welcoming introductions Topic, a useful answer, or a respectful discussion can set the tone for everyone who arrives next. Moderation supports that experience by giving you tools to manage participation as your Community develops. Moderation tools are included in Live Chat & Community Spaces.

Set expectations before inviting members

Explain what the community is for, what kind of contributions are welcome, and how you will handle inappropriate behavior. For example, ask members to stay relevant to the conversation, respect different views, and avoid sharing someone else’s personal information.

Keep these expectations easy to find and refer to them when you welcome members. These are recommended hosting practices; they are not automatic product rules.

Understand how your members flag concerns

Your members can use Report message in a message’s menu to flag a concern.

The report form asks for a reason and offers space for context; details are required when they select Something else.

Before submitting, members acknowledge that a successfully reported message will enter pending moderation. Explain in your community guidelines how you review reports and what behavior you expect.

Review concerns about profiles and avatars

Members can flag concerns using the separate Report profile and Report avatar controls on another member’s profile. In your admin dashboard, use the moderation filters to distinguish these reports from reported comments.

Review concerns in context

When reviewing a contribution, read the surrounding conversation before deciding what action to take. Distinguish a disagreement from behavior that breaks your community expectations.

Use the moderation controls available in your current setup. If you are unsure what an action will do, ask us before applying it. Tell us which item or conversation you are reviewing and the action you are considering.

Find your moderation tools

Use the Community area of your admin dashboard to review comments and find reports that need attention.

  1. Open Community → All Comments to see the Comments and Moderation screen.

  2. The All Comments tab shows the Content / Topic, Comment, User, Moderation, and Action columns.

  3. Open the three-dot menu in the Action column for a comment to see the available moderation actions, including Remove and Remove and Block.

Review the contribution in context and choose an action that fits your community rules. If you need to confirm the scope of blocking or whether an action can be reversed, contact SupaPass before applying it.

Find reports with moderation filters

  1. Open Community → Moderation, or select the Comment Moderation tab.

  2. Use Report status, Target type, and Reason to narrow the reports shown.

  3. For Target type, choose All targets, Comment, User profile, or User avatar.

If the screen says No reports match these filters, review your Report status, Target type, and Reason selections before concluding there are no reports to review.

Find pinned comments for your content

  1. Open Community → Pinned Comments, or select the Pinned Comments tab.

  2. Under Find content, use Search content titles to find the content whose highlighted comments you want to manage

Keep the conversation useful

Make time to check your Topics and content discussions. Answer useful questions, acknowledge contributions, and redirect a conversation when it has moved away from the Topic’s purpose.

If you have a small team, begin with the spaces you can support consistently. More Topics do not automatically mean a better member experience.
