Organizing your Community with Topics and Content Feeds

Give members a clear place to join a conversation and explore relevant content.

Build a Community your audience wants to explore. Bring your content and conversations together, with a clear place for introductions, questions, shared interests, and the next useful thing to watch, listen to, or read.

For example, a course creator could put lessons and learner conversations in the same Group. A podcast host could offer an episode feed alongside a Topic for listener questions. Members can move from enjoying your content to taking part in the conversation around it.

Choose the right place for the conversation

Topics can be used like live chat rooms. Use them for conversations that continue beyond a single content item, such as member introductions, a specialist interest, or questions around a course.

Discussions on Content keep a conversation connected to the item that prompted it, such as a video, podcast episode, or article. This helps members understand the context when they join in.

Content Feeds bring content into the Community experience. Use them where the content itself helps members find something relevant to watch, listen to, read, or discuss.

The website screenshots show one example using BDJ School’s branding. Your Community follows your website’s light or dark theme, font, and brand color.

Plan your first Topics

Choose names that tell members what belongs there. “Episode discussions” or “Member introductions” gives more direction than “General.” Start with the conversations you can actively support and add more as the community develops.

For each Topic, prepare a short explanation of its purpose and an opening question. You can also explain how you would like members to participate, such as keeping replies relevant and welcoming different perspectives.

Open the Community Builder

In your SupaPass dashboard, go to Community > Community Builder. The builder shows your Community Groups and the Lists and Topics inside them. Select a List or Topic to see its details on the right.

Help members find their way

When introducing Community, tell members where they can find it in your app or website, which Topic to visit first, and what they can contribute. Use the labels and navigation that appear in your own setup.

If a member cannot find the Community area or open a discussion, contact us with the page or content link and whether they are using your website, iOS app, or Android app. This helps us check the relevant setup and access.

Join a Topic conversation

A Topic gives members somewhere to ask a question or contribute without needing a new content release first. In the recorded website example, members select a Topic from the Community sidebar, read the conversation, and use the Message box at the bottom. The upward-arrow button is the send control.
