If you want more control over the look and feel of your app’s store images, you can create custom screenshots instead of using our built-in Screenshot Generator.
Why Use Custom Screenshots?
Custom screenshots give you more flexibility to:
Highlight specific features or app experiences.
Use custom branding elements such as unique backgrounds, additional text, or annotations.
Ensure full control over the design and messaging.
While SupaPass provides an automatic Screenshot Generator, custom screenshots allow for a more tailored and visually appealing representation of your app.
Custom Screenshot Requirements
Each app store has specific requirements for screenshots. Make sure your images meet these guidelines before submitting.
Apple App Store Guidelines
When preparing your app for the Apple App Store, it's essential to adhere to specific screenshot requirements to ensure optimal display across various devices.
General Requirements
Quantity: A minimum of 1 and up to 10 screenshots per device size.
File Format: Screenshots should be in JPEG or 24-bit PNG format without transparency.
Resolution: Images must have a minimum resolution of 72 dpi.
Color Space: Use the RGB color space for all images.
Device-Specific Requirements
Apple mandates that developers provide screenshots tailored to specific device displays:
iPhone 6.9" Display
Applicable Devices: iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Portrait Orientation: 1290 x 2796 pixels or 1320 x 2868 pixels.
Landscape Orientation: 2796 x 1290 pixels or 2868 x 1320 pixels.
Note: These screenshots are required if your app runs on iPhone and screenshots for the 6.5" display aren't provided.
iPad 12.9" Display
Applicable Devices: iPad Pro (6th generation), iPad Pro (5th generation), iPad Pro (4th generation), iPad Pro (3rd generation), iPad Pro (1st generation), iPad Air (M2).
Portrait Orientation: 2048 x 2732 pixels.
Landscape Orientation: 2732 x 2048 pixels.
Note: These screenshots are required if your app runs on iPad.
Additional Considerations
Consistency: If your app’s UI is the same across multiple device sizes, you can provide the highest resolution screenshots required. They will automatically scale down for smaller sizes.
Google Play Store Guidelines
When submitting screenshots for your app’s Google Play Store listing, follow these requirements to ensure compliance and improve visibility:
Minimum Requirements
You must provide at least two screenshots across different device types:
File Format: JPEG or 24-bit PNG (no transparency).
Size Limitations:
Minimum dimension: 320 pixels.
Maximum dimension: 3,840 pixels.
The longest side cannot be more than twice the shortest side.
Highly Recommended for Better Visibility
To improve your chances of being featured in Google Play’s recommended sections, provide at least four high-resolution screenshots:
Resolution: Minimum 1080px width.
Orientation-Specific Guidelines:
Landscape: 16:9 ratio, minimum 1920x1080px.
Portrait: 9:16 ratio, minimum 1080x1920px.
By meeting these recommendations, your app may be showcased in Google Play’s large-format display sections, increasing visibility and potential downloads.
