Why Do I See a Cookie Notice on My Website?
When you visit a website created using SupaPass, you may notice a cookie notice appearing at the bottom of the page. This notice is there to inform visitors about the use of cookies on the website and to seek consent for their usage.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you interact with a website. They serve various purposes, such as improving website functionality, enhancing user experience, and providing valuable insights to website owners. Cookies can be classified into different types, including essential cookies that are necessary for the website to function properly and non-essential cookies that require user consent.
Can I remove a cookie notice?
No, the use of cookies is subject to various legal requirements, including compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). GDPR refers to a set of European data laws that mandate websites to obtain user consent before placing non-essential cookies on their devices.
What activates the cookie notice on my website?
A cookie notice appears on all SupaPass websites. Visitors can choose Sounds good! to accept or I’ll pass to decline. Their choice is remembered for 12 months in that browser, unless its stored data is cleared. Private/incognito sessions may ask again.
The Privacy Policy link in the notice points to SupaPass’s default policy. There is currently no per-website toggle to change that link. A visitor’s website choice does not carry over to the native app.
