Introduction to Release Notes
Release notes are your app's voice to the world, communicating updates and improvements. Now with our enhanced App Setup, you can submit your very own release notes with each version of the app.
The first version of your app does not require release notes. Simply write "First release" in the "What's New?" field.
How to Write Compliant Release Notes
Writing compliant release notes is important because they are reviewed as part of the submission process, this means the stores may reject your app if your release notes are inaccurate or against their review guidelines.
Do:
Be concise and highlight key features.
Prioritize clarity and user impact.
Include all updates since your last release.
Don't:
Include inaccurate statements about functionality.
Exceed 500 characters for Android, or 4,000 characters for Apple apps.
Include references to price, including the word "free".
Make comparisons to other apps.
Recent Releases
This section includes our latest releases from X date onwards, you can copy them directly or use them as inspiration for your own. If you've missed several updates, consider combining them to provide a comprehensive set of release notes. All release notes are provided in YYYY-MM-DD format and your submitted version will always be the latest from this list.
If your app has not been updated since before 2023-12-17, consider adding any features from the Pre- 2024-01-17 release notes alongside any from the more recent releases.
