Screenshots: Showcase your app

In the fiercely competitive world of mobile app development, making a strong first impression is essential. One powerful tool at your disposal for achieving this is the creation of eye-catching screenshots for your iOS apps. App Store visitors typically scan through these images before deciding to download an app, making it crucial to present your app's best features effectively. To meet Apple's requirements, developers must provide 3 to 10 screenshots for each device type, including:

  • 5.5" iPhone

  • 6.5" iPhone

  • 12.9" (6th Generation) iPad

  • 12.9" (2nd Generation) iPad

Default Settings

Our automatic screenshot maker simplifies the process of generating stunning screenshots. It comes equipped with default settings that allow you to effortlessly create polished visuals. These default settings include:

  1. Theme: Choose between light or dark themes to match your app's aesthetics.

  2. Background Color: Specify the background color using a hex code to maintain brand consistency.

  3. Text Color: Define the text color with a hex code for maximum readability.

Customize each screenshot

While the default settings are designed to streamline the process, our screenshot generator offers extensive customization options to tailor each screenshot to your exact requirements. Here's what you can do:

  1. Select Screens: Choose up to 10 screens to generate screenshots for. This selection can include your app's Home Screen as a standard choice.

  2. Variety of Screens: You can generate screenshots for various types of screens from your apps, these include: sections of a content type, an individual section, an a list, an item of content, and players such as the audio player. All of these screens allow you to showcase different aspects of your app.

  3. Custom Text: Add custom text (up to 50 characters) to each screenshot to highlight specific features or benefits.

  4. Theme Variations: Each generated screenshot can have a different theme, enabling you to demonstrate both light and dark mode experiences.

  5. Background Color: Customize the background color for individual screenshots using hex codes to accentuate different app sections or moods.

  6. Text Color: Adjust text color on a per-screenshot basis to ensure optimal visibility and contrast.

With these customization options, you can create a set of screenshots that effectively communicate your app's unique features and user experience, all while maintaining a consistent brand identity.

Screenshots should conform with Apple's Metadata review guidelines. Do not include references to prices (including the word "free") as this may result in a rejection and delays to the release of your app.

Generating the screenshots

Once you've selected the screenshots you'd like to generate, click 'Save & Generate Screenshots' to begin generating your screenshots.

Screenshots take around 10 minutes to generate.

Review your screenshots

Once your screenshots have been automatically generated you can choose which screenshots you'd like to submit for review and set them in the order you'd like to display them in.

The first 3 screenshots are really important as these are the first a user will see in the search results. We recommend showing the home screen first as it showcases the app, but it's completely up to you!

If you're looking for more customization and want to design your own screenshots you can upload your own screenshots for each device by following these steps.

  1. On the screenshots page, click the Pick and Review tab.

  2. Select Upload Custom Screen.

  3. Upload the screenshots for each device, ensuring that the meet the required dimensions specified below.

  • Do not include references to prices (including the word "free").

  • Do not compare your app directly to a competitor.

  • Images of devices in each screenshot should reflect the device the screenshot is for. For example, phones screenshots should not be stretched out to imitate an iPad.
