App Graphics: Your Shortcut to App Customization

In today's fast-paced digital landscape, the importance of visual elements within mobile apps cannot be overstated. As seasoned app developers, we're acutely aware of the significance of graphic assets in creating captivating user experiences. As part of our streamlined process we've designed for you, the App Graphics screen allows you to effortlessly customise your app with your own brand identity. All you need to do is upload the specified image assets and we'll handle the rest!

Banner image

A 16:9 visual asset positioned on the home screen and instantly visible upon launching the app, the banner image serves as the digital doorstep to your application.

Your banner image should reflect your brand. If you're conveying simplicity or elegance, consider keeping it minimal with a large version of your logo. For a bold and vibrant brand, incorporating something bright and colorful can be a compelling choice.

App Icons

This is the first of your branding a user will see in the store, and each time they view your app on their device. Try to make the icon distinctive and in tune with your brand, consider the following:

  • Use simplified but distinctive branding, such as a square version of your logo.

  • App icons are small on a device, avoid using detailed images or too much text as they will be difficult to read.

  • If you have a podcast you may be able to adapt your podcast cover image.

You can make the icon different for iOS and Android, but consider keeping them the same for branding consistency.

Top Tip: You don't need to add any rounding to your app icons, this is added automatically by the stores.

iOS App Icon

Your app icon must be a PNG or JPEG, up to 1 MB, 1024 px by 1024 px, and meet Apple's design specifications and metadata policy.

Google Play App Icon

Your app icon must be a PNG or JPEG, up to 1 MB, 512 px by 512 px, and meet Google's design specifications and metadata policy.

Google Play Feature Graphic

This large-format, eye-catching image is your canvas to convey your app's core message and value proposition effectively. Consider including a few visual elements from your brand to promote your app, such as images of your most prominent content. Try to avoid using too many words in the graphic and refrain from using words that may cause issues in review, such as references to your pricing.

Your feature graphic must be a PNG or JPEG, up to 15 MB, and 1,024 px by 500 px.

Android Notifications Icon

The Android Notifications Icon is a small graphic discreetly nestled in the notifications tray of Android devices, and can help users identify notifications from your app at a glance. Upload a simple 96px by 96px graphic to display on all Android device types.

tvOS Assets

Note: TV apps are only available on some plans. Contact us for more information about how TV apps can elevate your brand.

Creating a seamless and immersive experience for users on Apple TV demands thoughtful consideration of your tvOS app assets. These assets, tailored for larger screens and a living room environment, perform best with simple but bold graphics.

Background Layer

This should not contain any transparency and looks best when using colors relevant to your branding rather than images. The background does not have to be a solid color, subtle gradients often give the best effect!

Foreground Layer

This will be layered over the background and should not contain any transparency. This works well with a wide version of your logo.

tvOS Top Shelf Image

This is used when the user places your app in the top row of their home screen. This is a great opportunity for increased visibility. You'll need to upload two versions of your top shelf image:

  • A regular width of 1920 px by 720 px.

  • A wide version of 4640 px by 1440 px.
