Want your website, articles and albums to show up on Google and in AI search tools like ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot? This article explains how search engines find your SupaPass website, and the simple steps that help them index your content.
Does SupaPass create a sitemap?
SupaPass websites don't generate an XML sitemap, and it isn't possible to upload your own sitemap.xml or robots.txt file to your site. That's why visiting /sitemap.xml or /robots.txt on your website shows a 404 page.
The good news is that your site doesn't need one to be found.
How Google finds your website
Sitemaps can be useful, but they aren't the main way Google finds websites. Google discovers pages by crawling your site and following the links between them, from your menus and pages to your lists and individual content. Google's own guidance explains that well-linked sites often don't need a sitemap to be indexed.
Good To Know đ Please don't use an online sitemap generator for your SupaPass website. There's nowhere on your site to host the file, so Google Search Console won't be able to read it.
How AI search tools find your website
AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and others work the same way. They draw on the search indexes built by Google and Bing, rather than reading sitemaps directly. If your site is indexed by Google and Bing, it can be found by AI-powered search too.
Make your content easy to find
Publish on a live domain. Your preview (.xyz) website isn't indexed. See Preview (.xyz) websites.
Link your content. Make sure the pages and content you want found are linked from your menus, pages or lists, so search engines can follow the links to them.
Choose the right access level. Content set to Free (no login) can be crawled in full. For paid content, search engines see the public preview description and SEO information rather than the locked content.
Fill in your SEO details. Add page titles, meta descriptions and image alt text to your pages, lists, products and content. See Tips for SEO.
See what Google sees
Search engines read the code behind your page, not just what appears on screen. You can check this yourself:
Open the page or piece of content on your live website.
Right-click anywhere on the page and choose View Page Source (or press Ctrl + U on Windows, Cmd + Option + U on Mac).
Press Ctrl + F (or Cmd + F) and search for <title> and description to check your page title and meta description show what you entered in your SupaPass dashboard.
Good To Know đ Once your site is verified in Google Search Console, the URL Inspection tool shows exactly how Google crawled a page. Click View crawled page for an indexed page, or Test live URL to check its current version.
Verify your site in Google Search Console
Google Search Console shows you how Google sees your site and lets you ask Google to index your pages.
In Google Search Console, add a URL prefix property for your website, for example
https://www.yourdomain.comVerify it with Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics. If either is connected to your site (Community â Integrations â Tracking in your SupaPass dashboard), choose that option on the verification screen. Google confirms it automatically, as long as you're signed in with the same Google account.
Alternatively, add a Domain property and verify it with a DNS TXT record at your domain provider.
Once verified, open the URL Inspection tool, check your key pages and click Request indexing for any that aren't on Google yet.
To connect a tracking tool first, see Integrate with Google Tag Manager or Connect Google Analytics to your SupaPass website.
Add your site to Bing Webmaster Tools
Bing's index feeds AI-powered search such as ChatGPT and Copilot, so it's worth adding your site there too. Bing Webmaster Tools can import your site straight from Google Search Console, so there's no need to verify it again.
