Fair Use Policy

Explaining your upload limits and how to increase them

Updated over a week ago

We operate a Fair Use Policy, and 99% of our Creators' content needs are covered by this policy.

For Creators with high usage, which may be large amounts of content or large audiences, this costs us more in server storage costs, transcoding costs (each file uploaded is converted into 6 copies of different sizes to deliver buffer-free streaming to your audience automatically at the best resolution, for the best streaming experience), and bandwidth costs (whenever your audience streams a file, the data is sent to them from our servers). These are the costs we incur, and for high usage accounts, we need to ensure that these costs are covered by your package, so we aren't losing money hosting your content.

We like to support our Creators, so we try to absorb most of these costs in our normal packages; - our Fair Use Policy.

However if you have a lot of content or a large avid audience, it's easy to add a bolt-on to your package, which are low cost and transparent.

To make it easy to understand we have simplified the complexity of storage, upload, and bandwidth costs into one bolt-on currently:

  • The first 50GB of storage is included in your package.

  • Additional storage can be bought per 100GB for $50 / month

So for example:

  • <50GB storage = your normal package price

  • 50GB-150GB storage = your normal package price + $50 per month

  • 150GB-250GB storage = your normal package price + $100 per month

If you have extremely high volumes of content or very large audiences please contact us so we can discuss a package to fit your needs.
